What is a stepped header?
Dale and others have been using this design in Drag racing for over 15 years. The stepped design offers the best overall power available in a 4-1 exhaust system when run on the Bandit air oil cooled engine. The slightly smaller primaries make good power and throttle response in the lower rpms by keeping the exhaust velocity high, then the larger primary tubes really make it run on the top end.
The updated second generation Comp 2 Holeshot Stepped Header now has a new collector design with a divider plate added. Dale was able to increase the mid range power and torque once he found the sweet spot of the combination. Over 11 months of testing and development time went into the Holeshot Bandit header system. Dale not only made hundreds of dyno pulls but also logged many road miles to insure the best power delivery across the RPM range as well as the most cornering clearance available.
The Holeshot Bandit Stepped 4-1 Header is offered as a complete exhaust system. The front section is also available separately to customers that already have our current Holeshot slip-on or any other brand X slip-on as well.
Each Holeshot Bandit header is handcrafted and precision tig welded in house by our master fabricator Paul McCain.
The light weight, thin wall mild steel tubing weighs less than half of your original header at 7.5 lbs, and the complete system drops about 15 lbs.
Dale's final design makes very good power across the board and man does it take off above 6000 rpm.
Note: You can expect about a 4-6 hp gain when run on a stock B-12 or B-6.
Holeshot high sheen silver ceramic coated inside and out offers a thermal barrier, which holds the heat in, producing more hp. It also eliminates corrosion and metal deterioration over the long haul. The outside surface is easily maintained and polished by hand with our Magic Mix product. The header comes with a 1 year anti rust warranty on the coating.
Note: The purchase of our front fender extender and the Magic Mix polish is required to recieve the ceramic coating warranty.
Note: Our muffler elbow pipe is now coated to match the header when you order the whole system.
You can expect a middle of the road noise level from the Holeshot system. This means it barks a bit at wide open throttle, but at freeway speeds you can barely hear it inside your helmet. Just a nice deep, low tone growl.

Note! Valco High Temp Silicone is required when installing our exhaust systems. See Below.
The Holeshot mufflers are available in fully polished or a powder satin black canister with polished stainless end caps.
Note: We highly recommend installing a fender
extender to keep your header coating in good condition.
All Holeshot complete comp 2 header systems are available with 14" or 17" fully polished or satin black outer muffler canisters. We also offer comp or street cores as well. Eight out of ten systems sold for the 1200 are with the comp core for maximum performance but if you want it just touch quieter you may want to choose the street core. The 600 will have the same power output with either the street or comp core but Dale prefers the street core with the smaller, high revving engine to keep the sound level in check, but the choice is yours.
