100% hand made by american craftsmen.
Dale's 2007+ DL-650 V-Strom Holeshot Slip-on conversion is a slick way to install our Holeshot slip-on while retaining the original front header system and heat shield for a factory look. Unlike some full systems, Dale's design allows you to install the optional center stand as well as other accessories like engine protection bars, skid plate, or hard bag systems. It delivers the performance gains and quality you expect from Holeshot Performance, with a 4 to 6 hp gain and more usable mid range when run along with the Dobeck TFI tuning box, and Dale's own dyno tested tune up. Most DL-650's still run well with no tuning at all, so you may want to try the slip-on only first or do the up grades in stages. The Holeshot slip-on conversion offers about a 60% weight reduction compared to the stock muffler, which improves the handling, and is hand crafted from high grade 304 stainless steel and 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum components.
The Holeshot slip-on conversion is less expensive than a full system and we offer a quick turn around time
How the slip-on conversion works
This simple but clean design requires removing your exhaust system and cutting the muffler tube in an easy to get to location, approximately 1" past the weld bead up from the header collector. You then package and send us your front header section with UPS. We then do our fabrication work to convert the header to accept your new Holeshot slip-on. This design allowed us to keep the cost down compared to building a hand made full system, without sacrificing performance and keeping more of a factory look. As far as sound goes, it has a very subtle exhaust note at light throttle or while just cruising down the interstate, but will come alive under full throttle load with that great V-Twin growl. The polished elbow pipe and clamps are also made of 304 stainless for long life and good looks. Our trick billet db killer is also an option for riders that want even less exhaust volume.

Tune or not to tune
Most DL-650s run pretty well when adding a slip-on if you stick with the original air filter, but if you want to really smooth out the power curve, ad more mid range and top end power, along with very good fuel mileage, Dale highly recommends the TFI tuning box. He has been TFI tuning the DLs for two years now with great results. This is a much easier way to dial in your EFI than any other method and dyno tuning and re-mapping are not necessary. The DL-650 V-Strom Holeshot slip-on is available in fully polished or a satin black canister with polished stainless end caps. The elbow pipe and clamps are also made of 304 stainless for a long life and good high quality looks.
