Hi Dale
Yea buddy that "advancer" put some real pop in that FZ1 of
mine. I can feel it pulling harder and going quicker from out of
the turn to full on. (I have to start shutting the damn thing down
quicker than before.)
Turn the throttle and you know where the $53 went!
Keep up the good work,

Dale,
I can not put into words how pleased I am with your products,
particulary the stage 2 jet kits and exhaust components. I just
completed my third install of these items on my friends 2003 ZRX
1200, and to say he was more than satisfied is an understatement. I also installed these items on my 1998 1200 bandit (which I sold to
a close friend and he loves it) and my 2005 Yamaha FZ1 with
excellent results (may need a 50 shot of nos to keep up to that ZRX
in a roll on though!!)
Keep up the good work,

All I can say is WoW!! I got my Stage 2 kit from Holeshot on 12-28-07 that night when I got off work me and my Bud started to put the kit in around 12:45am EST by 5:30am it was done!We followed Dales instructions to a T and with much surprise the bike started on the first try! took bike out the next day no adjustments needed, only did a carb sync. This kit ROCKS! it really woke up the sleeping giant, very smooth through all rpm range and revs much faster! Power increase was simply amazing for a jet kit. Also ordered Dales AIS remove,15tooth sprocket. I highly recomened this kit for all FZ1 owners. Thanks Dale for a awesome kit it was well worth the money spent!!
John Geres "Spencer" FZ1OA(Snohomish, WA):
I chose Dale's Stage 1 carb kit and timing advancer for my 05 FZ1 because I didn't want to drill holes in my carb's or be constantly adjusting needle's and float level's, etc. trying to make the bike run right. With Dale's carb kit, throttle response is now clean and instant, and with his low mount slip-on I later added, the combined performance difference over stock is truly amazing. The slip-on muffler isn't too loud and sounds great.
If you want to get it right the first time call Dale!
Craig (Spokane, WA):
Dale,
I installed your rear shock strut this summer along with some high
mount rear set footpegs and a high oval exhaust for more ground
clearance. What a difference! Then I added competition front brake pads and Pirelli Corsa III tires and promptly dropped 7
seconds per lap off my best track lap time. Wow. It still feels
a little bit like a truck compared to a friends R1, but a very
fast truck. ;-) I can circulate in the upper range of the
intermediate group at most track days here in Spokane.
Thanks for the parts and advice--it has really enhanced the experience.

Hi Dale, I just installed the AIS kit this weekend. Nicely done.
Everything fit, the caps are sweet and the instructions were very
clear and well illustrated. No more cursing to change plugs! I'm
actually looking forward to checking the valves next time. I'm
considering the fork brace set up next.

Your kit is "Awesome" My FZ1 was a Lemon from the factory, it ran horrible and kept fouling plugs every 300 miles. I made lots of trips to the Yamaha Dealer with no resolution. One year of warranty nightmare. After installing your kit, it runs great with lots of increased power. It even idles smooth. Thank you very much.

All I can say is that I'm all shits & giggles on the improvement
it made to my bike -
a) I disliked the low rpm drivability of the FZ, especially if
riding on slow MPH twisties. It is very hard to keep the rpm's up with
the tall gearing on the FZ. Dale's kit provides way more low rpm torque
and HP which dramatically improves driveability and drive in the low/mid
rpm's.
b) I had the 'buzz' in that 4500-5000 rpm range. So much so, that I
might as well have taken the mirrors off. With Dale's kit, this 'buzz'
is gone - I can actually see out of the mirrors.
c) I wanted more linear throttle response. That sudden 'kick' after
5000 rpm just wasn't what I wanted to experience when riding. That
dip is gone. In fact, the power curve is linear and strong from idle
all the way through redline. I witnessed the charts from the dyno,
and can say it also looks really good on paper. The timing advancer
showed the improvement per Dale's illustration. The bike is so smooth
now, that coupled w/Curtis' suspension upgrades, long trips are much
more pleasurable and effortless.
A side benefit was that these performance gains did not appear to
affect my gas mileage. I averaged 45 MPG on a ride down Hwy 1 to
Big Sur at what I would call a decent clip...

I tried the 3 deg. Ignition advancer. Wow... what a difference
First thing I noticed was I don't have to set the rev's to 2000 or
more rpm's and slip the clutch. Just ease the clutch out at 1500
rpm's and it pulls to a start strongly
Power and torque are up all through the rev range, but especially
down low.
Smooth idle, no overheating, no fouled plugs, 0 to 5000 ft.,
nothing but sh*t eating grins

All I can say after installing it is that I have a permanent

I've had it for a few weeks and it's exactly as advertised.

Dale's stage 1 jet kit made a really nice improvement
on my FZ-1. I installed the kit myself in about 6
hours. I only had to buy a couple extra inexpensive
tools (which were well worth it) and some other
materials. Once the carburetors were out, it was a
simple job. I did have a local shop install the
ignition advancer which cost me $30 in labor
only because I did not own a impact gun to break the bolt loose.
The FZ now idles and runs much more smoothly with no
sudden surges -- just smooth, fast power all the way
to 11,000 rpms! It is really fast. Response is very
linear and predictable. Throttle control is much
easier with a very smooth and silky feel. I also
bought his black slip-on which looks fantastic! It's
about 1/3 of the size of the factory slip-on (and
about 4 lbs. lighter) and really enhances the looks of
the bike. The people who have seen it comment on how
sharp it looks and what a big improvement it is over
the original. I was worried that Dale's slip-on would
be too loud in my residential neighborhood, but I was
wrong. It has a very mellow and a lower growly sound
without being loud at all -- I like that!
Dale was extremely good about answering questions,
providing directions and returning phone calls. He
was definitely there if I had any questions. I would
highly recommend his jet kit and pipe as an easy to
install kit that gets an immediate improvement on the
fun level of the bike!!
Thanks again, and I hope to get up your way on my bike
one of these days and drop in!

Dale, thanks for the info when we talked a couple weeks ago. Weather here hasn't been very cooperative, but I have had the FZ1 out a few times.
As I mentioned when we spoke, the full exhaust system
(header + pipe) with stage 1 jet kit is just stunning! The baseline settings seem just about perfect. Idle is smooth at 1200 RPM and the bike pulls smoothly and strongly just off idle. I don't know about dyno traces showing a loss of torque from 2500 to 3500 RPM or so, but you just DON'T feel it under real riding conditions. To me, the motor actually feels stronger in this range since it pulls through so much more quickly than even with the jet kit and slipon, although riding around at 2500 to 4000 RPM is also just effortless. As you say, power comes on really strong at about 7500 RPM. And I sure don't miss the EXUP, either.
This is a great, well engineered product!

Hello Dale,
I thought I'd give you some feedback, on you products. I have a 2001 FZ-1 with a jet kit from the other popular guy that sells jet kits for FZ-1's. I liked your A.I.R. kit better (no tapping) and I wanted to try an ignition advancer. I had zero problems installing either one, the quality was first rate, and the instruction's were right on. I used the impact method on the Advancer. The A.I.R. kit really cleans up the motor, and the caps fit perfect. The Timining Advancer made a surprising difference, my bike starts easy, idle's more smoothly, and runs better than it ever has. I knew something made a difference right off, because after it warmed up, I had to slow the idle down (it had picked up 3 or 4 hundred rpm). Thanks for the great products!

She purrs when I'm mellow on the throttle, and flat gets with the product when I romp on it. I'm talking Warp Speed baby! Pick a gear, any gear! Hi Dale, just got around to fitting the jet kit and ignition advancer to my
fazer 1000, i have to say i'm impressed, who'd have thought a simple jet kit could make such a difference it really wakes the bike up a bit. I'm still using the stock silencer(muffler) as the police here are ultra strict about noise, the instructions were great to a home mechanic like myself. I didn't need the drill bit as the mixture screws are not sealed off on UK bikes, i set the bike up using your base settings for my elevation and the 'rough' setting feels just about spot on as the bike still runs like it left the factory, albeit a bit quicker!! Over the next couple of weeks i'll check the mixtures to see if i can fine tune the carbs although, to be honest i don't think it'll need much work as the bike rides so well already.
Thanks again,
Jim

Finally Installed Jet Kit
Got around to installing my stage one Holeshot Jet Kit/Advancer. The kit and instructions were very well laid out. Since I am running the stock exhaust and prefer to leave it in the "Stealth Mode", I called Dale and inquired about the initial settings to get them as close as possible. I followed his instructions to the letter. However, I did remove the cables so I could work on the carbs on my work bench. After reassembly, I fired it up, let it warm up, set the idle speed, performed a carb sync, shut it down and reset the TPS. Just to be sure, refired and double checked sync and idle speed. Then came the most fun part, the test ride. In short, the results are:
It's not cold blooded anymore
It runs smoother at all RPM's
It pulls a lot harder in all the useable parts of the power band
Fuel mileage is 3-4 MPG higher than it's ever been
All this on 87 octane Regular (before and after on same fuel)
Can't speak to any other kits for the FZ1 since this is the only one I've personally tried but I can tell you I am very pleased with this one.
I also purchased the 90 degree pilot screw adjusting tool and can tell you it's a quality piece that makes adjusting the pilot screws a breeze. I love having nice tools and this is a beauty.
Thanks Dale

Dale,
I finished my install of your Stage 1 jet kit on my FZ1, and love it to death! I runs so smooth, and the smooth roll on power is pure delight! I'm a bit mystified how jets smaller than stock will do this, but it really doesn't matter. I set it exactly how you told me to start with at my altitude in Denver CO, it runs great. Do have one question though, regarding cold starts and idle. I set the pilots at 3 1/4 turns out like you told me to, and it starts better than it did stock. It is still just a little bit cold blooded at the beginning, I'm not sure if your stage 1 is supposed to cure that, is it? It only takes about 1/2 choke to start it, sometimes it dies shortly afterwards, til the second hit of the starter. Will an adjustment at the pilots make any improvement of the cold starts, maybe in a 1/4? Still, it starts a whole lot better than it did stock, which is great. Keep you the fantastic work, and thanks for all your help!

Hi Dale,
Ok first off....
I bought your Stage 1 Jet Kit for my 2003 Yamaha FZ1. A friend and I
installed it with relatively no problems over the course of two nights after work. I must say WOW! What a difference. The FZ1 runs much, much
smoother. It starts, and idles much better, not to mention parking lot
speeds are easier to negotiate, with out having to rev it up and slip the
clutch. I must say, I love my FZ1 a lot more, thanks to your kit. THANK
YOU! I also plan on upgrading to your high mount slip-on pipe in the
future. Your products are the real deal, and I would totally recommend them
to anyone.

I have used your products on 2 Vmaxs and now my FZ1. I am 150% satified with the performance and quality of your products. The Holeshot jet kit, timing advancer and exhaust made my 02 FZ1 run incredibly smoother and as expected like a bat out of hell. The instructions were very clear and the recommended setup was on the mark. Most importantly, I recently had a rattle in the muffler which I called about and talked directly to Dale. I sent this back and it was immediately fixed and returned to me. Dale even called to let me know when he was done. I just wanted to say that your customer service even surpases your incredible products. Any time I have had a question about installation or parts, Dale himself usually addresses it. Just want you to know, I instal a FZ1 jet kit and ignition advance on my 2003 Fazer 1000, I think mine is an euro model, becouse of the colors(tank total yellow, front fender black, engine black, speed on kms.). The bike has a Yoshimura Tri oval carbon slip on.
At first I did not understad the instructions, but latter I discover that my FZ1 came with nedles that already had steps to lower or higher the clip as you like. Them I did not use your shims, but I put the needle clip at the same high that you said in yours instructions and install the jets from your kit. The bike works great, no problem 1500 to 3000 rpm, very strong at higher rpm. I am very satisfy.
Before, I had instaled IVAN jet kits on another 3 bikes, also in one FZ1 for my use (it was destroy by a friend testing the bike), but now that I have try both jet kits, I can tell you that I prefer yours becouse is very ease to instal and the bike increase the mileage a little like you said. Your instructions are very very good.
Thanks for taken your time to design this kits and made an already good bike a much better one.

changing from one pipe with a 2" hole to another pipe
with a 2" hole can make any difference...but the bike
simply PLOWS through the tachometer! I PROMISE it is
screaming along better...and smoother as well. It's
like butter! Am I dreaming this or what? How can a
different pipe make this much difference??? The fit
and finish is actually better than the Yosh...but I
still can't get over the performance change...the bike
is almost scary now. Please explain how this can
be...or tell me that I am just stoked about the looks
of the new pipe and I am imagining the rest.

The HoleShot Stage 1 kit with advancer was well worth the effort. The most difficult part of the installation was removing and installing the carb's. (the advancer would of been easier with an air impact gun but not impossible) The rest of the carb work was a piece of cake. The SS allen head screws for the float bowls was a nice touch. I set the floats as per the instructions, shimmed the needles, replaced the main jets as recommended for my altitude and set the mixture screws at 3 turns. Ran Perfect!!
Easy starting. No choke required on a warm day and no throttle required when the bike is warm. Just touch the starter and the engine comes to life.
No more gas smell when you enter the garage.
Power is more controllable and smooth along the whole curve.
All the surging has dissappeared.
All mirror buzz has dissappeared except a very slight amount right at 3000 rpm's.
When you do crank the throttle, the power is instant. No more reving required from a dead stop, just a little throttle.
Customer service couldn't be better.
No pinging with 87 octane.
100% satisfaction.

All I can say is WOW! Your stage 1 kit and advancer has really woken my FZ1 up!
Your base settings were spot on, the bike idles very smooth, (lumpy idle has gone),
bogging down just off idle has gone.
No more slipping clutch to get going, just let clutch out and the bike pulls smooth and strong all the way to red line.
The vibration at about 4000-5000 rpm has gone, fuel economy has gone up from 13-14 kilometers per litre to 20 kilometers per litre.
I want to say thankyou for a great product, and your service is outstanding.
I am 150% satisfied with the way the bike is running.
I will put a post about all this in the forum shortly.
