(Stage 2 - Throttle Body Butterfly Removal)
Remove the fuel tank and side panels, loosen up the air box by removing the top mounting bolts.
Loosen up the air box velocity stack clamps, then pull it back off the throttle bodies.
Loosen up the intake manifold clamps and pull the bodies out of the manifolds. Disconnect the injector plugs, necessary hoses and wire connectors. Slide the throttle bodies out the right side of the bike. The cables can remain connected if desired. Lay a towel against the engine to prevent scratching the paint. It's not bad idea to a have another set of hands from this point on.
Close up of secondary butterfly
Use a perfect fitting phillips bit to remove the butterfly shaft screws, putting a little heat on these with a solder gun or micro propane torch first is not a bad idea.
Once the screws are removed, slide the butterfly out from the shaft.
Close up of removed secondary butterfly. Remember a good throttle body sync is recommended for the best response, fuel mileage and a smooth idle
